Holy Family Church, Kannur

Holy Family Church, located in South Bazar, Kannur, Kerala, is a vibrant parish community belonging to the Syrian Catholic tradition within the Archdiocese of Thalassery. Established on 7 January 1990, the parish upholds faith, unity, and service under the patronage of the Holy Family.

The parish consists of 280 families across 16 wards, functioning under the Thaliparamba Forane. Led by Rev. Fr. Mathew Narikuzhy, the parish focuses on faith formation, youth involvement, and charitable outreach.

The Parish Council of Holy Family Church, Kannur plays a central role in nurturing the spiritual and community life of our parish. Representing all 16 wards and more than 280 parish families, the Council works closely with the Vicar to plan, guide, and coordinate pastoral, liturgical, and social activities of the parish.

Rooted in the values of the Holy Family, the members aim to build a parish community marked by love, unity, and active participation. From organizing parish events to supporting charitable initiatives, the Parish Council serves with dedication and humility.

Through prayerful leadership and teamwork, the Council strengthens the spiritual foundation of the parish and fosters a welcoming, vibrant, and faith-filled environment for all.

Catechism – Holy Family Church, Kannur

The Catechism Department of Holy Family Church, Kannur is dedicated to nurturing the faith formation of our children and youth, helping them grow in the love of Christ and the teachings of the Church. With committed and well-trained teachers, the department offers systematic and value-based religious education for students of all classes.

The team organizes various spiritual activities such as retreats, Bible quizzes, mission programs, and liturgical involvement to enrich the faith experience of every child. Rooted in Holy Family values, the department collaborates with parents, teachers, and parish leadership to guide children toward a deep and meaningful Christian life.

Through prayer, dedication, and joyful service, the Catechism Department continues to build a strong faith foundation for the next generation of our parish community.
